Johnny Charles Reid

Services for Johnny Charles Reid, 86, of Canton, are scheduled for 11 am Friday, June 4, 2021, at Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. L.A. "Pokey" Goodson and Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.

Mr. Reid passed away May 31, 2021 in Edgewood. He was born January 1, 1935 in Edgewood to James Roscoe and Georgie Louise Dillard Reid.

Johnny was a Christian by faith. He served in the US Marines during the Korean War. He retired from the Dallas Police Department after 29 years of service and enjoyed spending time with the DPD Retirees. Johnny was married to Chlo "Tiny" Burns Reid for 44 years before she passed away. He was a 50 year Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. Johnny enjoyed college football and basketball. He also enjoyed an occasional frozen margarita.

Mr. Reid is preceded in death by his wife, Tiny; parents, James and Georgie Reid; brother, Tommy Reid; and his sister, Linda Joan Page.

Johnny is survived by his two sons: David Reid and Douglas Reid; granddaughter, Elizabeth Reid; great-grandson, Isaac Douglas Richardson, all of Canton; brother, Jim Reid of Mesquite; sister, Bernice Ewing of Canton; brother-in-law, Charles Page of Canton; sister-in-law, Neva Jean Reid of Edgewood; and brother-in-law, Bob Adkins of Grand Saline.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Reid, Earl Reid, Dr. Chuck Page, Mike Wade, Robert Ewing, Nick Adkins, Mike Burns, Greg Springer, Brian Mabary and Terry Maher.

Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
