Joyce Walker Vick

Joyce passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 in Tyler, TX.

She was born May 25, 1929 in the Phalba Community of Van Zandt County, TX to Johnnie William Walker and Jewel Florence Rogers Walker.

Joyce grew up in Martins Mill and attended both Rock Hill and Martins Mill schools. She married Roy Arnold in 1945 and lived all over the world as an Army wife. They returned to Canton in 1968 where they made their home. After 35 years of marriage, Roy passed away in 1980. Joyce was remarried in 1987 to Wayne Vick and they have spent the last 29 years together. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, and most of all, her children & grandchildren. Joyce was a member of Little Hope Baptist Church.

She is survived by her Husband, Wayne Vick of Canton; Daughter, Mary Beacham of Dickinson, TX; Daughter, Linda & Jack Wallace of Athens, TX; Son, Ronnie & Janice Arnold of Fate, TX; Son, Tony Arnold of Athens, TX; 5 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Neva McKinney and Connie Bradley; and Brothers, Floyd Walker, Dewey Walker, Billy Ray Walker, and Dale Walker.

Joyce is preceded in death by her Parents, Johnny & Jewel Walker; Husband, Roy Arnold; Daughter, Tressie Faye Arnold; Brother, D.R. Walker; Sister, Florence Works; and Sister, Bobbie Slayton.

Family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Haven of Memories in Canton, TX.
