Julee French, age 81, of Wills Point, Port Aransas, and San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. Born on October 25, 1943, in Odessa, Texas, Julee was the beloved daughter of Lloyd R. French and Margaret Talmage French.
Her parents, Lloyd and Margaret French, her brother Lloyd R. “Bobby” French,Jr., and her dear friend Barbara Havard, preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Brent Patterson and his wife Ana, Leah Foard and her husband Jim; grandchildren, Brent Patterson Jr. and his partner, Shelby Meade, Keith Patterson, and Faith Foard; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Trinity; her brother, Kirk French and his wife Barbara and nephew, G. Kirk French and his wife, Charlotte, and their son Philip; along with a host of extended family and treasured friends. Julee grew up in the Midland area and later graduated from Incarnate Word High School in San Antonio. While living in San Antonio, she owned a local photography studio and a neighborhood bar, The French Connection. While living in San Antonio, Julee gave generously of her time, volunteering for various HIV-related organizations and making a lasting impact on the lives of those she served. Her heart, however, always belonged to the Texas coast. Port Aransas was her sanctuary — a place of peace and joy where she felt most at home. She cherished days spent by the sea, collecting seashells, watching sunsets, and basking under the glow of a full moon. A strong supporter of the Amos Rehabilitation Keep (ARK), Julee’s love for the ocean and its creatures reflected her deep appreciation for nature. For anyone inclined, memorial donations can be made to the Amos Rehabilitation Keep, 750 Channel View Dr, Port Aransas, Texas, 78373, or a charity of your choice.
Julee lived her life with purpose, laughter, and a fierce love for her family and friends. All who knew her will deeply miss her warmth, wit, and zest for life. May she rest in peace with sea spray on her face and sand forever between her toes.
The family will honor Julee’s life and legacy with a celebration at the beach, her favorite place, at a later date.
