Karen Gail McKnight

Mrs. McKnight passed away March 4, 2023 in Grand Saline. She was born November 15, 1950 in Dallas to Sim Allen and Nettie Doris Petty Tharp.

Karen was a Christian by faith and been a member of several Assembly of God churches over her lifetime. She grew up in Pleasant Grove. Karen loved singing and enjoyed performing at the Mesquite Opry. Karen retired from Country Trails Care Center in Grand Saline. She was an amazing cook and made sure anyone who visited her in her home ate before leaving. She also enjoyed baking. Karen never left her house without dressing up and putting her make-up on, even if it was just to run a quick errand. She loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. McKnight is preceded in death by her parents, S.A. and Doris Tharp and her sister, Gloria Herriage.

Karen is survived by her husband of 51 years, Randall "Ronnie" McKnight; sons: Josh and Stephanie McKnight and Ron Christopher and Melinda McKnight; three grandchildren: Levi, Montana, and Sierra; two brothers: Donnie Ray and Debbie Tharp and Scott and Joanne Tharp; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
