Our light, Our LOVE, Our Biggest Encourager, Regina Bingham left us Wednesday, March 6th. We are of course very saddened, but bigger than our grief is our relief and peace of knowing she is in the arms of Jesus!
She was born Kathie Regina McWilliams on October 24, 1942 in Fort Worth and passed away in Canton. Although she only resided in Canton as a child, she was always at home in Canton where she spent the happiest days on weekends and throughout summers as a child and adult with her grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Regina is preceded in Death by her grandparents, Sam & Effie Waggoner of Canton, grandparents Marion & Eva (Parsons) McWilliams of Martins Mill, parents Reginald & Katheliade (Waggoner) McWilliams of Canton, nephew Christopher McWilliams and brother-in-law Charlie Joyner.
Regina is survived by her husband, Dr. Walter Bingham who she was lovingly devoted to for 57 years. Two children: son, Blake Bingham (wife Tammi) of Kerrville; daughter, Kym Phillips (husband Don) of Canton. Sister, Gay Joyner of Southlake; Brother, Jerry McWilliams (wife Myra) of Cross Roads, Tx: Grandkids: Paige Hopkins, of Forney; Dr. Kyle Phillips, MD (wife Taylor) of Boardman, Ohio. Meagan Bingham of Los Angeles, California; Sam Bingham of Pueblo, Colorado; US Navy E3 Garrett Bingham of Pensacola, Florida; Morgan Clanton, Kerrville. And last but not least the GREAT Grandkids: Landry Hopkins, Olivia Hopkins, Charlie Phillips and Crew Phillips. Plus, many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and precious friends.
Regina’s professional career was spent as secretarial/administrative assistant within different areas of education from school districts to college. But her passion and love were for TVCC-Athens where she retired after many years’ service. Her support for the Cardinal Basketball and Football programs were one of her biggest joys.
Regina leaves behind memories for so many of her smile and laughter, her huge LOVE for her family and friends, and her legacy of pure, unfiltered JOY that filled up a room.
We, the family would like to extend our humbled appreciation for the support and outpouring of love we have received the last 3 months of Regina’s life.
Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mike Roberson officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.
There will be a scholarship fund set up at TVCC-Athens in her name. Donations can be sent to:
