Kenneth Louis Woods, 69, passed away on August 19, 2026. Born May 8, 1957, Kenneth was Van Zandt born and raised, and he carried that rooted sense of home with him throughout his life. He lived in Wills Point, Texas, where the familiar rhythms of the land and the outdoors fit him as naturally as a well-worn pair of boots.
A man of capable hands and practical know-how, Kenneth had a “Macgyver” way about him—seeing solutions where others saw problems, making do, making it work, and often making it better. He was a farmer at heart, steady and resourceful, with an appreciation for the kind of work that leaves you tired in the best way at the end of the day.
Kenneth found peace and purpose outdoors, especially through hunting and fishing. He took pride in doing things thoroughly and for himself, including processing his own deer and hog—work that required patience, skill, and respect for the task. When the day called for open air and open road, he also enjoyed his motorcycle, embracing the simple freedom of moving through the world on his own terms. At one point in time, he even owned 5 motorcycles showing his love and appreciation for the open road.
He was also a knife collector, drawn to the craft, utility, and character of each piece—objects that, like Kenneth, were made to last and meant to be used.
Kenneth is survived by his life partner, Samellen Corbell; his children: Leslie Reeves, Bud McClellan, and Heather Hill; his grandchildren: Damian Watts, Aaron Britt, Stori Sherwood, Danielle McClellan, Bryan Hill, Isaac Hill, and Allison Hill; his great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Watts, Alexander Watts, and Draven McClellan; his siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Eubank Funeral Home on August 24, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A Graveside Service will be held at Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Wills Point on August 24, 2026, at 10:00 am.
