Services for Larry Dan Stegall, 83, of Athens, will be held 10 am Monday, August 17, 2026, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Max Callahan and Ronald Cantrell officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery in Martins Mill.
Mr. Stegall passed away August 14, 2026 in Tyler. He was born April 28, 1943 in Athens to Howard French and Beulah Pauline Cobb Stegall.
Larry was a member of the Tundra Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. After high school, Larry served in the US Army in Korea during the Vietnam War. He then embarked on a 40 year career with the Texas Department of Transportation. In retirement, he worked another 12 years for Canton ISD as a bus driver. Larry was a licensed minister. He enjoyed talking about politics and telling jokes. He loved working on his farm.
Mr. Stegall is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sarita Douglas Stegall; sister, Charlie Mae Stegall; and his brother and sister-in-law: Howard Paul and Ann Stegall.
Larry is survived by his wife and close companion, Brenda Burns Hobbs; daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Ronald Cantrell; two sons: Beau Stegall and Bumper Stegall; five grandchildren and their spouses: Christina Marshall and Shawn Johnson, Emily and Colton Ebernez, Gracie Cantrell, Summer and Trent Rushing, and Savannah Stegall; eight great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Luxe, Ashtin, JohnWayne, Bentley, Scarlett, Jensen and Joseph; aunt, Alingeline Stephens; and numerous cousins and friends.
Visitation will be 4-6 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
