Laura Mae Montgomery Grassmyer

Services for Laura Mae Montgomery Grassmyer, 82, of Duncanville, are scheduled for 1 PM Tuesday, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton. Interment will be in Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.

Mrs. Grassmyer passed away February 4, 2017, in Duncanville. She was born March 10, 1934, in Canton, to T.N. and Ressie Black Montgomery.

Laura was raised in Canton and moved to Dallas when she was 16 years old. She raised her family in Dallas and retired to Crandall where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed going to their events. Laura enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She will be remembered as the best mother, grandmother and mother-in-law.

Mrs. Grassmyer is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Grassmyer; parents, T.N. and Ressie Montgomery; two brothers, James and Wayland Montgomery; and a sister, Clarice Montgomery.

Laura is survived by her five children: Robert Yowell of Combine, Susan Martin of Mineral Wells, Randall Yowell of Lewisville, Russell Yowell of Flower Mound, and Sara Yowell Rivera; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, soon to be 16; 2 brothers: Charles and Glen Montgomery; and a sister, Sally Gurley.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
