

Lawson went home to the Lord on May 2, 2023 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on January 1, 1940 in Phalba, Texas to Hugh Lawson White and Edith Estelle Pleasant White.
Lawson grew up in the Van Zandt County area and graduated from Mabank High School in 1957. He attended and graduated from East Texas State College (now Texas A&M, Commerce) in 1961 with a Bachelor’s Degree. Lawson married his one true love, LaNell Brock, on September 12,1959. The couple built a beautiful life together and raised two children; Debbie and Randy. Lawson began a career with Texas Electric Cooperatives; working with TVEC in Kaufman till 1986. His career then took him to Greenville as the General Manager of Farmer’s Electric Cooperative where he stayed until retiring in 2005. As busy as his career was, Lawson still had time to coach Randy’s Pee Wee and Little League teams and never missed a performance of Debbie's and the Kaufman Lionettes. Lawson was a faithful servant to the Lord. He was a member of Russell Memorial Methodist Church in Wills Point, Texas where he was active in teaching Sunday School and a member of several committees serving the church and community. After retirement, Lawson and LaNell enjoyed traveling and seeing the beautiful sites of America; buying antiques along the way. Lawson was a devoted husband, father and servant for the Lord. He will live on in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, HL and Edith White.
Lawson is survived by his beloved wife, LaNell White; children Debbie Deen and husband, Bobby, Randy White and wife, Rhonda; grandchildren, Taylor Deen, Zach Deen, Tyler White and wife, Lauren; sister Paula Storey and husband, Reggie; brother-in-law, Dwayne Brock and wife, Peggy; many nieces, nephews and cousins; a host of other family and friends.
Interment will be at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas.
