

Linda Fay Peacock Brockman, 71, passed away on the 12th of August 2016 at her home in Canton, Texas. She was born on the 25th of February 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas to Theodore D., “T.D.”, and Edna Dillard Peacock.
Linda grew up in Big Spring, Texas and graduated from Big Spring High School. After high school Linda married and moved to Wichita Falls. After moving to Throckmorton, Texas, while rearing her children, Linda earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. She was an elementary teacher and librarian for Throckmorton ISD, Kermit ISD, Midland ISD and Baccus Elementary School in Granbury, Texas. After retiring from teaching, Linda became a Mary Kay consultant and cared for her cherished customers for more than ten years.
One of Linda’s proudest accomplishments was completing the Rock and Roll Arizona Marathon in 2004, after beating non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in the late 90’s. She raised over $3,000 for the American Stroke Association.
Linda married the love of her life, Larry D. Brockman in August 1964 in Big Spring, Texas. They were happily married for 51 years. She was a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Throckmorton Chapter No. 500. Linda served as a Stephen Minister for Acton United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Canton First United Methodist Church, the Canton Rotary Club, the Wednesday Study Club, the Methodist Christian Women’s Group, and Delta Kappa Gamma. She received the Mirabeau B. Lamar Award for Excellence in Education from the Granbury Masonic Lodge No. 392. She also received the Rotary Paul Harris Fellow Award, as well as numerous other awards in education.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, T.D and Edna Dillard Peacock, and her brother, Jimmy Peacock.
Linda is survived by her husband, Larry Brockman of Canton, Texas; her daughter Jennifer Brockman and wife Paula Welch of Fort Worth, Texas; her son, Geoffrey Brockman and wife Crystal of Longview, Texas; her brother, Ray Peacock and wife Debbie of Midland, Texas; her twin sister, Kay Seager and husband Gary of Longview, Texas; her brother Larry Peacock and wife Frances of Caddo Mills, Texas; her brother, Dale Peacock of Big Spring, Texas; and a multitude of family, friends and loved ones.
A service celebrating Linda’s life will be held at Canton First United Methodist Church, 600 S. Buffalo, Canton, Texas, on September 10, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers are Brock Warren, Ian Hughes, Zach Hughes, Jared Hitt, John Sullivan and Bob Hargrove.
