IN THE CARE OF
Eubank Funeral Home & Haven of Memories Memorial Park
Services for Lynn Ross Mullins, 78, will be held 10 am Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Pastor Mike Roberson and Rev. David Cartwright officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.
Lynn was born May 23, 1944 in Dallas to Billy Ross Mullins and Hazel Tene Baldwin Mullins and lived in Grapevine. The family moved to Myrtle Springs in 1955 and opened Modern Builders Supply in 1959. He graduated from Wills Point High School in 1962 and married his high school sweetheart, Mary Sue Platter, in August of the same year. They shared almost 50 years in marriage before her passing. Lynn then married Sherry Kearby Tunnell and had just celebrated 10 years together.
Lynn served in the US Army during Vietnam as a medic/chaplain assistant returning home to the family business after serving his country. He was active in his community by serving on both the Myrtle Springs and Wills Point School Boards for several years and also in the Myrtle Springs Community Theatre. Upon returning to Modern Builders Supply, he and his father worked together to support the communities in all of their building needs for 50 years. Lynn was called to be a pastor early in his life and he served many churches in East Texas throughout the years. He had a love for ranching and enjoyed being on the land working with his cattle and up in the John Deere tractors. One of his interests was in Civil War histories and cemeteries and he had collected many books on those subjects.
Lynn is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Sue, and their infant son,Martin Ross Mullins.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Sherry; his daughter, Beth and David Grace; grandchildren, Abigail Grace and Lukas Grace; and sister Elaine and Barry George. He is also survived by his inherited family: Jeff and Kim Tunnell, Rene and David Cartwright, Brett and Jill Tunnell; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Our loving thanks goes to Sheree Bunting, who has been by our side this year and is now part of our family.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to be made to the First Baptist Church Canton Building Fund or church of your choice.
