Margaret Mayo Smith

Margaret passed away February 3, 2016 in Bay City, Texas and was born on April 20, 1929 in Ashland, Kansas to George and Nina Hoggett.

She went to school in Beaver Oklahoma attended Abilene Christian college and became a secretary. Margaret worked for Moncrief Lenore Manufacturing Company in Dallas. She became a house wife, seamstress and mother to her sons. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star, raising Arabian Show Horses and operating an Arabian Breeding farm. Later she met and married Melvin Smith the two of them enjoyed trips together such as to Branson, Missouri and California along with activates in the Eastern Star and she loved quilting.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her mother, Nina Mayo Cvaniga; husbands: Charles J. Kuykendall and Melvin Smith; brothers: Mark and Robert Mayo.

She is survived by 3 sons and their wives: Frank and Erica Kuykendall, Ronald Dean and Andrea Kuykendall, and Raymond Dwayne and Cora Kuykendall;

grandchildren: Tanya Kay Rose, Jason Lee Kuykendall, Patrick Helmut Kuykendall, Aaron Dwayne Kuykendall, Vivianna Faith Kuykendall, Zachary Charles Kuykendall, Brianna Jean Kuykendall and Elyzabeth Grace Kuykendall; and great-grandkids.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the funeral home.
