Wherever life took her, Marie Holland Seale was all about her love of God, family, friends, and country. What a lovely place the world would be if everyone had a role model as dear as Marie. She was kind, sweet, thoughtful, caring, loving, and of noble character. Marie was a faithful, Godly woman.
Marie was born near Canton in Van Zandt County, Texas on July 10, 1923, to parents Edgar Raymond Holland and Willie Floyce Liner Holland.
On July 20, 1940, Marie married Harold Seale, who was one of three children of Alvin Thomas Seale and Mary Miller Seale. Harold and Marie lived in various places because of Harold’s employment with Western Electric including Oklahoma, Alaska, and Texas. Harold and Marie had three children: Larry, Danny, and Brenda. Beginning in the 1940’s, the Seale family made their home in Longview, Texas. Harold and Marie reared their children in a Christian home. Harold predeceased Marie in 1975.
The Seale family were active members of the Mobberly Avenue Baptist Church in Longview where Harold Seale was a deacon and sang in the choir and gospel quartets. All of their children were baptized in that church. While living in Longview, Marie was a member of Pilot International where she performed volunteer services in the community. She was Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Longview Chapter No. 610 (1984-85) and earned her 50 year member status in 2011. Marie volunteered numerous hours at the Baylor Medical Center at Grapevine and the public library in Breckenridge. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Breckenridge and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
