Marilyn McGinnes passed away peacefully on November 28, 2022 in Tyler, Texas. She was born on September 25, 1950 in Alief, Texas to J. E. Jones and Maidie Burnett Jones.
Marilyn grew up in Alief, Texas on the west side of Houston. She lived in the Canton area later in life. She was a loving and simple woman. She was happy cooking and baking. Marilyn had a green thumb and loved growing flowers, but her true talent was arts and crafts. She painted not just pictures but she would create flowers and objects out of everyday items and paint them so that no one could tell that her beautiful flower started out as a tissue or a fast food container. She was happiest at home and comfortable in her surroundings. She will be dearly missed but live on the memories of those that knew and loved her.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and Maidie Jones; daughter, Alicia McGinnes.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Staci McGinnes; daughter, Sheila McGinnes – Vaden; grandchildren, Kyle McGinnes, Lexi McGinnes, Levi Vaden; sisters; Brenda and Curtis White, JoEllen Kucera, Laura and Martin Ruffeno; former husband, Coy McGinnes; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Interment will be at Haven of Memories Cemetery in Canton, Texas.
