Mary was born on May 22, 1944, in Ben Wheeler, Texas, to Wayne Hubert Calloway and Clara George Adrian Calloway. She grew up in the Ben Wheeler area and later in the Dallas area. Mary graduated from Wilmer Hutchins High School and attended North Texas State University.
A devoted mother and friend to her daughters, Mary’s care and steady love were felt most deeply at home and among those closest to her. Her life was marked by enduring affection, and she held her family with a tenderness that will not be forgotten.
Mary found joy in the simple pleasures that made everyday life brighter. She loved a good bargain, and shopping was a favorite pastime. She also enjoyed movies—black and white classics, romance, mystery, and westerns—and was always ready to settle in for a good film. Mary was a devoted "dog mom" and her dogs were devoted to her.
For more than 50 years, Mary was a member of First Baptist Church in Carrollton. She loved the Lord and lived as a faithful servant of God, carrying her faith with quiet devotion and steadfast commitment.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Clara Calloway; two granddaughters, Megan and Angel; and one great grandchild.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Adamowicz and husband, Ed, and Misty Simons and husband, Craig; granddaughter, Annie Vowell and husband, Dillon; great grandchildren, Aspen Rose and Shiloh Grace; and a multitude of other family and friends.
