

Mrs. Clem passed away March 20, 2025 in Portugal. She was born November 21, 1922 in the Jackson Community to Joseph and Lillie Stilly Ward.
Bernice grew up in the Jackson Community and lived in Dallas for many years. During her working career, she was a school teacher and principal, store keeper and computer board assembler. She loved gardening and collecting rocks. She would say “GO” was her middle name. She was always up to going anywhere and loved to just get in the car and go. Mrs. Clem enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a "mom" to not only her children, but to their friends. Later on she became the "Grandma" to her grandchildren and their friends.
Mrs. Clem is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Clem; her parents, Joseph and Lillie Ward; son, John Clem; two grandchildren: Elizabeth Wright and Vincent Hunter; two brothers: J.L. Ward and Denver Ward; and two sisters: Lavonia Ward and Mozelle Anders.
Bernice is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Durward and Lori Clem of Sachse; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Francisco Marcos of Portugal; six grandchildren: Rebecca, Johnathan, Julian, Amy, Kayla and Kaysie; several great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Brown; and numerous other family and friends.
