Michael passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Tyler, TX.
He was born February 18, 1945 in Corpus Christi, TX to Robert Wayne Echols and Betty Lou Warren.
Michael grew up in Gainesville, TX. He worked as a police officer for 34 years. He spent 28 years at Canton Police Department, with 10 years as Chief. Michael was a man of his word and was proud to serve the City of Canton. He enjoyed collecting model trains, working in his yard, and visiting with family and friends.
He is survived by his Wife, Terrie Jeanette Echols; Daughter, Leah Echols; Daughter, Theresa Echols; Son, David & Mindy Echols; Daughter, Jennifer & Steven Yates; Daughter, Ashley & Josh Cox; Daughter, Tanya Wilbanks; 17 Grandchildren; and 18 Great Grandchildren.
Michael is preceded in death by his Parents, Robert & Betty Echols; Great Granddaughter, Ceirra Morman; and Sister in Law, Connie Willis.
Interment will be at Haven of Memories in Canton, TX.
Family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
