Michael Wayne Phillips

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on May 15, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Eubank Funeral Home,

Michael worked as a company man for TISEO Paving Company before retiring as a landman for a gas company in Center, Texas. He was a proud and hardworking man, dedicated to his career and even more so to his family.

A free spirit with a heart of gold, Michael was known for his deep love for his children and grandchildren. If you were a friend of one of his kids, you were considered family, too. His giving nature knew no bounds—he would give anyone the shirt off his back without hesitation. His porch was his sanctuary, where he spent countless hours listening to Willie Nelson, telling stories, and soaking up the world around him. With his long beard, he often joked he was going on tour with Willie himself. He also would enjoy the company of a friend as they reminisced on the good days or would spend the day fishing.

Michael was a diehard Alabama football fan and a proud Harley rider. He adored his dog Muffin and had an incredible sense of humor, balanced by the wisdom to offer a good lecture when it was needed most. He was the kind of man you could call at any hour—always ready to lend a hand, a laugh, or a few hard-earned words of advice.

He was more than just an amazing father and mentor—he was a cornerstone in the lives of so many, and he will be deeply missed.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, F. A. Phillips and Sue Phillips; sisters, Terry Phillips and Brenda Fuller; nephews, Royce Denton and Jason Tidwell; niece, Jamie Denton.

He is survived by his daughter, Amber Sides; son, Adam Sides; granddaughters: Aniya Johnson and Kielynn Thompson; grandsons: Michael Dustin Sides, Kason Sides, Michael Wayne Sides, Kaiden Warren; sister and brother in law, Jan Tidwell and Ricky Tidwell; brother in law, Dewayne Fuller; nieces and nephews: Jodi and Michael Bourne, Jeremy Tidwell, Sheryce Baylor, Christie Wilkerson and Tracy Fuller; many great nieces, great nephews, cousins and close friends.
