Norman attended Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, TX where he graduated in 1969. Following High School, Norman attended Lee College, Texas A&M University and the University of Texas where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and studied Biology.
After college, Norman went to work for many years in restaurant management, most notably as General Manager for Steak and Ale, Fuddruckers, and Olive Garden. After retiring from the restaurant industry in the early 1990’s, Norman went to work as a driver for FedEx for over 20 years. Norman retired from FedEx in 2014.
Norman was an avid Sports enthusiast, and most closely followed the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros. Equal to his love of sports, was his passion to travel. Norman traveled as often as he could and enjoyed cruises most of all. Throughout his life, Norman enjoyed scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, and dancing among other hobbies. Most importantly, Norman was a follower of Jesus Christ and took comfort in his studies of the holy scripture throughout his life.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Scott Russell Jr. and Jessie Lucille Russell, and his brother, Larry Russell.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his Sister, Cyndy Hopmann, his children, Sean Russell and Stephanie Russell, and 3 grandchildren: Dante and Desiree Edwards and Rylee Russell. Norman is also survived by his many beloved friends, nieces and nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Norman Lee Russell is scheduled for Wednesday February 20th at 10:00 a.m. at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home located at 3919 Garth Rd. Baytown, TX 77521
