Nova Monroe Henry

Nova Henry, a cherished soul born on September 9,1937, in Whitehouse, Texas, has peacefully departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. His journey through life was marked by his unwavering love for his family, his friends, and his community.

Born to Novis and Willie Henry, Nova grew up in a household filled with warmth and care. He shared this love with his sister, Rebecca Henry Reel, who survives him, along with eight beloved nephews and nieces. Nova was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Richard Nova Henry, and his sister, Joyce Jones. He is also survived by his dear friend, Gerardo (Jerry) Avelar, who was a steadfast presence in his life. Nova had four children, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren

Nova shared a lifelong partnership with the love of his life, Peggy Henry. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and companionship, providing each other with unending support and joy.

His career path took him to the General Electric Plant in Tyler, Texas, from which he retired with fond memories and numerous friendships. Nova was a skilled plastic welder, builder and tradesman. Nova also owned Henry's Repair in Canton, Texas, where his skills and dedication helped many in the community.

A proud member of the Baptist Church in Canton, Texas, Nova's faith was an integral part of his life. He was not only a devoted church member but also a man who embodied Christian values through his actions and interactions.

Nova was a third-generation beekeeper, a hobby that brought him immense joy and connected him to his family's traditions. His love for storytelling and his infectious laughter will long be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He loved music and wrote many songs and played the guitar and harmonica. He had a unique gift for bringing smiles to faces and warmth to hearts with his jokes and stories.
