Perry served 21 years in the US Army and moved to Fort Hood in 1989. After retiring he continued working as a military contractor dealing with M1 A2 SEP tanks. He thoroughly enjoyed visiting with his fellow "tankers." Perry loved going on cruises and had just returned from a cruise a few days before he passed away.
Mr. Sanders is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Irene Sanders; two brothers: Francis and David; and one sister, Doris.
Perry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Wilma Jeanne Sanders; daughter, Jaime Lynn Rodriguez and Juan Carlos Vega; son, Stephen Edward Sanders and Jessika; son, Mark Anthony Sanders and Jacky; six grandchildren: Gabryel Rodriguez, Kennedy Sanders, Kane Sanders, Eda Berkay, Esma Berkay and Ezra Sanders; one great-granddaughter, Chloe Cecil; brother, Everett Sanders and Cindy; sister: Julie and Tim Dunklee; sister, Bonnie Bowen; and multiple nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
