Phyllis Ann Smith

Phyllis was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Brownsboro since its beginning in the early 1980's. She faithfully served the Lord there as a Sunday School teacher, nursery worker and wherever she could serve. Her and her husband, Bobby, are two of the longest members of the church.

For the initial years of her three sons' lives, she was a stay-at-home mom. Once all of them had begun school, she began her twenty-one-year career as a special needs teacher's aide for Brownsboro ISD which she dearly cherished. Her teacher's aide position kept her close to her children and afforded her the chance to volunteer for many of their functions. Her love for her boys was evident through her vocal pride for all three of them having graduated from Texas A&M and doing what she could to be close to and help them and their families.

As her grandchildren were born and began to grow, she did everything she could to attend as many of their functions as she could; from sports games, dance recitals and competitions to livestock shows. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her many joys in life.

Phyllis loved gardening, flowers and working outdoors. She even had a greenhouse she loved to tend to. She was proud of her rose gardens and growing various flowers and plants. Bandit, her dog, who came along later in life was one of the many things she loved.

Phyllis is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Bobby Smith; her three sons: Cliff Smith (Chelsi), Ryan Smith, and Phillip Smith (Breanne); her six grandchildren: Bella, Ava Kate, McCall, Cambri, Cole, and Carli Smith; her sister, Janet Costlow; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Phyllis is preceded in death by: her parents, Clifford and Wanda Dickerson; and her daughter, Lisa Smith.

Services for Phyllis will be held at 2pm on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Faith Baptist Church in Brownsboro, TX. Visitation will be held one hour prior, at 1pm, at the same location. Interment will be in Edom Cemetery.
