Raymond Edwin Smith, 75, He went to his Heavenly home July 17, 2026. Ray was born November 21, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Ellis Ulysses Smith and Edna Leah (Reeves) Smith. He was a resident of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.
Raymond was a steady, hard-working man whose life was defined by showing up—day after day—for the people who counted on him. He will be remembered as a very good man: a faithful provider and a devoted father, someone who carried responsibility with quiet strength and offered care in practical, lasting ways.
He found joy in time well spent and work well done. Camping and travel gave him room to breathe and a chance to make memories, especially alongside those he loved most. He also had a gift for working with his hands, and woodworking reflected the same patience and diligence that shaped the rest of his life. In lighter moments, Raymond’s dry-humored pranks brought a subtle warmth—small surprises that made ordinary days brighter for his wife, children, and grandchildren, with whom he especially loved to travel.
Raymond’s memory will be carried forward in the lives he supported, the lessons he modeled through hard work, and the love shared across generations.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Edna Smith, and his brothers, Robert and Ronnie Smith.
He is survived by: his loving wife, Rhonda Lee (Duncan) Smith; his daughters: Denise Wade and husband Tim, and Christy Arnold and husband Joey; his grandchildren: Keaton and Alexis Treadway, Mason and Aimee Arnold, Aedan Arnold, Ashton Arnold, Hailey Wade and Jake Patterson, Jake and Selena Wade, Clayton and Emma Arnold; his great-grandchildren: William Arnold, Grayson Arnold, Henry Arnold, and Joey Wade; and his sister, Rita and Joe Mozingo.
He will be laid to rest at Larissa Cemetery, FM 855 & CR 3706, Mt Selman, TX 75757, on July 23, 2026, at 10:00 am.
