Richard Wayne Houchin

Mr. Houchin passed away peacefully at his home on December 12, 2025. He was born March 5, 1956 in Dallas to Bobby Joe and Betty Jo Eads Houchin.

Richard grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated W.W. Samuel High School in 1975. He married Wanda Gayle McCarter in 1976. Richard loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and cooking. His best days included spending time with his family. He was a member of CLife Church. He will be remembered for his tireless work ethic, being a man of his word and always taking care of his family and friends.

Mr. Houchin is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Wanda Gayle and his parents, Bob and Betty Houchin.

Richard is survived by his four sons and their wives: J.R. and Lori Houchin, Greg and Lisa Houchin, Jeremy and Sarah Houchin and Chad and Melissa Houchin; nine grandchildren: Luke, Jayden, Olivia, Linley, Finn, Sofia, Charlie, Caleb and Avery; two brothers: Gary and Melanie Houchin and Mike Houchin; sister, Linda and Nathan Barrett; and dear friend and sister, Glenda Bradshaw.

Pallbearers will be Gary Houchin, Mike Houchin, Joel Wells and Sam Ragsdale. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard McCarter, James McCarter, Nathan Barrett and Kent Cummings.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
