

Services for Rita Faye Kvale, 76, of Athens, will be held 3 pm Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at First Baptist Church in Yantis with Bro. Craig Vance officiating under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
Rita passed away August 21, 2020 in Tyler. She was born July 6, 1944 in Dallas. Rita grew up in Bonham and then lived in Dallas for many years. She loved music, gardening, dancing, studying Scripture, the Lord, and kids. Rita was a person who loved people and life. As a wonderful mother, her life revolved around her children. She was a member or First Baptist Church in Yantis.
Mrs. Kvale is preceded in death by her biological father, Ernest Ray Spaur; parents, Olin and Aline Elizabeth McCollum Jennings; granddaughter, April Whitley; grandson, James Paul Hodkinson, son-in-law, Donny Hodkinson; and a grandson, Jason Kvale.
Rita is survived by her husband, Dale Kvale of Athens; children: Carolyn and Richard Lawhorn of Rockwall, Libby and Doug Brashear of Athens, Rhonda and Leonard Owens of Mabank, Shelly and Terry Dickerson of Grand Saline, Kim and Chris Strickland of Gatesville, Kenneth and Sherry Randell of Wills Point, Elizabeth and Dwayne Wenner of Crowley, Kaja and Eric Smith of Caddo Mills, Jeremiah Kvale of Caddo Mills, Jerod and Christina Kvale of Lavon; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Larry and Linda Jennings of El Dorado, Arkansas; and brother, Curt and Sue Spaur of Bloomington, Illinois.
A visitation will be held 1-3 pm Wednesday at the church. You may wear a mask at your own discretion.
