Robert Don Morris

A memorial service will be held for Robert “Don” Morris, 79, of Canton, Texas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Lakeside Baptist church under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home. Dr. Mark Moore and Bro. Carlton Young officiating.

Don went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2021 at home. He was born on December 5, 1941 in Dallas, Texas to Robert Dempsey Morris and Jewel Lynn Hamrick Morris.

Don grew up in Dallas and attended W. W. Samuel High School. He later moved to the Houston area where he served as a Houston Firefighter and retired after 20 years. He was a firefighter for the City of Balch Springs for the next 13 years. After being widowed, a friend introduced him to a beautiful, loving widow, Judy Ann Smith. They married on April 24, 1993 and had 28 wonderful years together. Don was a talented man, whether it was music or acting. He had an extensive love of music and performed with many great professional singers and musicians. Don did some acting in commercials and TV shows, including an episode of “Walker, Texas Ranger”. More than anything he loved the Lord and his family. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dempsey and Jewel Morris; wife, Pat Morris; daughters, Leanne Jaudon and Amber Pruden.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Judy Morris; children, Mark and Taryn Morris, Nikki Upchurch, Jay and Lisa Smith; grandchildren, Elise Upchurch, Courtney Smith, Jaycie and Matthew Jobe, Nathan Morris, Brianna Clark, Megan Chatham and partner, Dustin Jones, Grace Morris, Taylor and Bo Wingo, Justin Pruden, Jeremy Pruden, Jonathan Pruden, Britni Barsness, Ben Jaudon and a legacy of great grandchildren; sister and brother in-law, Sue and Anson Cagle; many dear friends and fellow firefighters.

A visitation will be held one hour prior at Lakeside Baptist Church.

Inurnment will be at Haven of Memories Cemetery in Canton, Texas.

My heart is heavy over the lost of our don. Judy you were such a blessing to him. Sue I love you. The memories we shared will always be with me. The Hamrick Grandkids were a force to be reckoned with. Oh the fun we had. May God bless.
