Rollin "Rollie" Sininger was raised in the mountains of Colorado where he learned many of the skills he used for the rest of his life. He joined the Air Force in 1951 and taught pilots to fly fighter planes during the Korean War. He was also third baseman on the air force softball team and was playing the year the team won the world championship. While in the Air Force he was moved to San Antonio, Texas where he met Barbara Vincent in church. They married on August 27, 1954.
He had a way of encouraging people to love him. He never met a stranger and even kept friends from his childhood, for life. Rollie received his Ed.D from the University of Texas and had a varied career beginning as Assistant Dean of Students at the University of Texas, and ending as Vice President of Student Life and then full professor at North Texas State University. He had an interest in improving the lives of the people in his community, and so became affiliated with many different community organizations. He stayed busy and spent much of his time improving his land and home where he and Barbara lived together. He was very proud of his family and stayed an integral part of the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His hope was that his life showed others of the great gift given us all with the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ; and he would like to be remembered as a man of faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Della Sininger; his brother, John Alva Sininger; and other family members.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Vincent Sininger; daughters, Lu-Dell Sininger Diebold, Tiana Sininger Gutierrez and husband, Gary; and Doryce Sininger Judd and husband Tom. He is also survived by grandchildren, Leeana Gutierrez Duran, Jace Gutierrez, and Chystal Judd Fincher and great grandchildren Austin Duran, Nicole Duran, Gavin Duran, Lyric Gutierrez, Sawyer Gutierrez, Livvy Gutierrez, Sophie Gutierrez, Chloe Fincher, Elijah Fincher, Lorelei Fincher.
Interment will be at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas.
