

Ronnie passed away peacefully on December 13, 2022 in Tyler, Texas. He was born in his grandmother’s home in Whitton Community on January 1, 1947 to Racine Martin Tankersley and Fama "Vaunoia" Huddleston Tankersley.
Ronnie graduated from Seagoville High School in 1967 and continued his studies on a basketball scholarship at LeTourneau University. He was a man on the go, in his earlier years his job had him traveling and living in different states. While living in Baltimore his heart belong to his love, Linda Francis, in Texas. He proposed one night saying, “If you don’t fly up here to Baltimore and marry me, I’m just going have go buy the phone company.” The couple had been talking on the phone at least once or twice a day. Ronnie and Linda where married on July 28, 1985 and started a beautiful life together that has lasted 37 years. Ronnie enjoyed looking for arrowheads and doing civil war reenactments. He loved to fish and hunt from the time he was a young man. He never care to fly on commercial planes, but he enjoyed flying biplanes. Ronnie enjoyed the outdoors, growing roses and painting. He was a man with a big heart who loved his family. Ronnie will be missed but live on the memories of all that knew and loved him.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Racine and Vaunoia Tankersley.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Tankersley; children: Tracy and Brett Morton, Sharon Teel, Jason Tankersley, Brian Tankersley and Curtis Tankersley; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; siblings were: Fama Sue Harris, Lajuana Lynn Bilger, Marty Keith Tankersley, Kerry Gordon Tankersley, K. Luther Tankersley and Michael Hubbard; a host of other family and friends.
Interment will be at Tarver Cemetery in Van Zandt County, Texas.
