

A graveside service for Shirley Ann Baker will be held 3 pm Monday, March 24, 2025, at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton with Max Callahan officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior at Eubank Funeral Home. The family will host a reception at Jerry’s Pizza Place at noon. The Priest family has graciously agreed to open the restaurant for the reception.
Mrs. Baker passed away March 21, 2025 in Southlake, Texas. She was born September 7, 1935, in Dallas, TX, to Richard N. and Arline Stark Carder. She was raised in Seagoville and in 1956 married her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, Charles Baker. Following his graduation from UT Austin Pharmacy School, they moved to Canton. They raised their family in Canton and were active throughout the community their entire married life.
Shirley was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Canton and a founding member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton. She was also a member of the Wednesday Study Club. She was an entrepreneur and owned several businesses with her husband Charles, including Baker’s Pharmacy, Baker’s Gun Shop, Gifts by B, The Little Ones Shop, and Unique Mall. Shirley loved to travel, play dominos and card games. She enjoyed visiting with people and seemed to always run into people she knew everywhere she traveled. Shirley loved to entertain guests in her home. One of her passions was opening her home to friends and strangers alike. She taught her children the importance of helping others and a fond memory of the family is delivering gifts to shut-ins on Christmas Eve. She lived a life of service to others.
Shirley is survived by her children and their spouses: Dana and Dan Wilkirson of Keller, Texas, Mitzi and Larry Tally of Southlake, Texas, Rick and Janet Baker of Southlake, Texas, and Charlie and Krystal Baker of Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jacque and Chris Carpenter and Brooke and Addison, Kristen Wilkirson, Brian and Simone Wilkirson and Kara and Evan, Jordan and Kourtney Tally and Caelee, Megan and Adam Anderson, Brandon and Karlee Baker and Henry, Amanda Baker, Blake and Kayce Baker and Will, Nick Baker, Kayla and Mel Bethune, Alexis West and Niklas Mayr. She is also survived by her brother, James and Carolyn Carder, and their children Jason and Brandi Carder, Jennifer and Troy Stratton; her sister-in-law, Mary Carder and her children, Debbi and Jim McClung, Tommy and Pam Carder, Sharon Carder and Karen Carder along with many other relatives.
Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles Baker, her parents, Richard and Arline Carder, and a brother, Richard Carder.
