Shirley Ann Simpson

There will be a Graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas.

Shirley was full of life. Shirley worked hard all her life, and she found herself working on the tarmac at DFW Airport where she met her true love, John Simpson. Shirley enjoyed her flower garden and doing crafts. She decorated her home with knick knacks and treasury she found on her travels and shopping. Shirley biggest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Time with family would have her beaming. The children would laugh and smile when she talked to her parrot, Sonny, and he would talk back sounding just like Shirley. Friends were always welcome and loved the warmth of her home and hospitality.

She is preceded by in death by her parents, Pete and Lillian Virginia Sherman; granddaughter, Casey Egbers.

Shirley is survived by her beloved husband, John Simpson; children: John Egbers, Jack Egbers, Jenny Egbers Ross, Judy Hall and husband, Mike; grandchildren: Stephanie Diaz, Weston Egbers, Joe Egbers, Savannah Egbers, Adam Ross, Jessica Graber; great grandchildren: James Egbers, Ellie Egbers, Dustin Graber, Johnny Graber, Ashley Isham, Ella Isham, Charlie Rose Diaz; many other family and friends.
