

Stephen Douglas Bennefield Jr., born on September 5, 1991, in Texas, passed away on August 10, 2025, at the age of 33. Stephen was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him. His laughter, kindness, and adventurous heart will forever remain in the memories of his family and friends.
As a little boy Stephen grew up with a love for the outdoors and developed a passion for hunting and fishing. He could often be found by the water with a fishing pole in hand, patiently waiting for the big catch, or in the woods during hunting season with his dad.
Later in life, Stephen developed a deep love for the open road, riding his motorcycle with friends gave him a sense of freedom and peace that he cherished.
Music was another constant in Stephen’s life. He found joy in all kinds of music and made lots of memories around campfires, barbecues, and gatherings where music played in the background.
Stephen had a natural talent for working with his hands as a plumber or just tinkering with anything that had a motor on it.
Above all, Stephen cherished time with his family and friends. He loved cooking out, making barbecue, and sitting around sharing stories and laughter. He was kind and had a very loving heart. Stephen will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Stephen is survived by his loving parents, Stephen and Christina Bennefield of Ben Wheeler, Texas; his siblings, Kayla Bennefield of Pensacola, Florida, Savanna Nunn of Lindale, Texas, and Matthew Nunn of Lindale, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his paternal Papaw, W. H. Bennefield; his Memaw, Becky Perminter; and his brothers William Jech and Anthony Nunn.
Stephen’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. While his time here was far too short, the impact he made will last a lifetime.
