She was commissioned to do the statue "The Trade", for the Canton Trade Days, and enlisted another sculptress, Ora Lee Small, to work with her. It still stands on the square today. She did many stained glass/etched glass pieces all over east Texas, glass mosaics commissioned by Whole Foods Corp., murals done in restaurants and residential walls. Texas Wildlife produced and sold prints of some of the wildlife originals she did for them. She also has prints being sold through Wayfair, Fine Art America and several other outlets. She also had her USDA license and bred and raised a few exotics on their property.
She is survived by her loving husband, soulmate and best friend of 50 years Ray Stutts. Together they had three sons: Eddie Stutts and wife Amy, Blaine Phillips and wife Susan, and Shayne Phillips and wife Kelly Jo; one daughter: Shana St. John and husband Mick, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
