Susana Herrera Perez

Susana "Susie" Herrera Perez, 89, of Fulshear, Texas, passed away on September 22, 2023. She was born on August 11, 1934, in Premont, Texas. Susie married Adan on April 25, 1951. Their love and commitment to each other over 68 years produced six children, twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Susie was a loving and kind-hearted woman, known for her compassion and support. Her faith and family were her main priorities in life. She set a beautiful example as the matriarch. Her presence was cherished by all who knew her.

Susie is survived by her daughter, Yolanda Martinez, and her husband Pete Martinez of Beaumont, TX; BJ Perez, wife of Adan Perez Jr. of Canton TX; her son David Perez and his wife Barbara Perez of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; her son Michael Perez and his wife Terri Perez of Canton, TX; her daughter Dianna Thompson and her husband Ron Thompson of Fulshear, TX; her son Andrew Perez and his wife Sheila Perez of Edgewood, TX, and her brother Rey Flores of Plano, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adan Perez, her son Adan Perez Jr, her granddaughter Adina Perez, and her grandson Daniel Perez.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and family. Susie was a proud grandmother to Adan Perez III, Veronica Curtis, David Eli Perez, Michael Perez Jr, Cynthia Holloway, Christina Cieri, Cody Perez, Chandler Thompson, AJ Perez, Allie Seiders, Tristan Thompson, and Spencer Thompson. She was also a great-grandmother to Ethan Webb, Tanner Casey, Kennedy Law, Emily Perez, Sami Jo Perez, Kaden Moulder, Adam Roof, Evan Cieri, Garrett Holloway, Addyson Perez, Blaine Perez, Mac Seiders, Alyssa Price, and Matthew Acton. Additionally, she was a great-great-grandmother to Weston Allen, Kayson Dodd, Gracie Price, and Lily Price.

In her educational pursuits, Susie attended Premont High School. She also obtained a Real Estate license and Brokers License. Throughout her career, she showcased her talents as a cosmetologist and owned and operated Susie's Beauty Salon in Kingsville, Texas. She also worked as a Real Estate Broker for Arthur Garza Real Estate Agency in Irving, Texas.

Susie found solace in her faith and was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Irving, Texas, and St. Therese Catholic Church in Canton, Texas.

Outside of her professional life, Susie had a variety of hobbies. She enjoyed being part of the Ladies Guild at church, spending time with her family, reading Louis L’Amour books, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and baking.

In memory of Susie Herrera Perez, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, MDAnderson, or St. Therese Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held 5 - 6:30 pm Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, with a Rosary starting at 6:30 pm. A funeral mass will be held 10 am Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Canton with Father Jesudoss Thomas and Father Selvaraj Sinnappan officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.

Susie will be deeply missed by her loved ones and all those whose lives she touched. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
