Tex Earl Martin

Tex passed away peacefully on August 22, 2023 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on October 4, 1950 in Dallas, Texas to Forest Martin and Doris Pritchett Martin.

Tex grew up in Dallas and graduated from Spruce High School. Tex worked a postman for over 35 years for the United States Postal Service. He was a simple and kind man. Tex enjoyed watching western on TV, going out to eat, and picking on his sister, Patty, but Tex’s biggest joy was spending time with family and going to all the grandchildren’s school events. He was always right there; their biggest cheerleader, no matter the event. Family was always important. Tex loved the Lord and dearly loved his family. He will live on in the hearts and memories of his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Doris Martin; brother-in-law, Larry Cook; nephews, Terry, Mark, and Scott.

Tex is survived by his daughter, Lisa Martin and KeaVon; son, Chris Martin and wife, Jill; grandchildren: Leslie and Scott, Caleb and Vanessa, Jacob, Brysen and Kora; great-grandchildren, Bradley, Troy and Corbin; sister, Patty Cook; brother, Bo Pyle and wife, Linda; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas.
