Thomas grew up and lived most of his life in Dallas. He was a carpenter by trade and a Baptist by faith. Tom loved getting together with family, fishing, camping and was a an avid coon hunter.
Mr. Hammond is preceded in death by his father, Robert Hammond, Sr.; and two brothers: Steven Ray and Michael Hammond. Thomas is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen Lea Hammond; son and daughter-in-law, John Thomas Weedon and Priscilla; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Lea Atherton and Carl; son, Jacob Anthony Hammond; two grandsons: John Randolph Weedon and Joseph Anthony Weedon; mother, Peggy Ann Poston Hammond; brother, Robert Eugene Hammond, Jr.; three sisters: Cynthia Ann Thomas, Deborah Kay Chapman, and Karen Christine Simons; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
