V. Jean Henderson

Mrs. Henderson passed away on September 1, 2025 in Forney. She was born December 8, 1929 in Hydro, Oklahoma to Henry and Myrtle Gifford Smith. She moved to Texas in the spring of 1951 where she spent the rest of her life.

Jean married Dr. E. Harold Henderson on July 2, 1948. She was a devoted pastor's wife for over 50 years. She enjoyed singing in the choir and had a deep love for the Lord. She enjoyed ceramics and collecting antique dolls as well as spending time reading, working word puzzles and even enjoyed time coloring. One thing she liked deeply was her love of animals. She watched animal programs on television and bought many VHS tapes on all types of different animals. She even liked dinosaurs. Her favorite was Little Foot in “The Land Before Time” movies. But her greatest love was in cooking and spending time with family.

Mrs. Henderson is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. E. Harold Henderson and her daughter, Cherilyn Cheree White.

Jean is survived by her son, Steve Henderson; daughter, Sharon and Matthew Schory; two granddaughters and their spouses: Carolyn and David Nguyen and Andrea and Lee Hornback; and two great-grandchildren: Sophie Hornback and Olivia Hornback.
