Mrs. Holland passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 in Bedford. She was born November 6, 1931 in the Wallace Community in Van Zandt County to Thomas Hiram and Ruth Erman Phillips Lide.
Vernie graduated from Canton High School in 1948. She retired from American Airlines after 47 years of service. Vernie was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, loved bowling and traveling. She was a Baptist by faith and enjoyed watching Dr. Charles Stanley preach on TV.
Mrs. Holland is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ruth Lide; three brothers: Homer, Harold and Buck Lide; sister, Maxine Paul; and a niece, Donna Lide Wilson.
Vernie is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Janis and Charles Baskin of Martins Mill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Heidle Baskin, Steve Baskin, Wade Baskin, Al Lide, and Gary Lide.
