Services for Viola Douthit, 105, of Canton will be 11 am Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Don Brown and Max Callahan officiating.
Mrs. Douthit passed away May 10, 2018 in Canton. She was born June 29, 1912 in Quinlan to TJ and Lee Anna Willoughby McBride.
Mrs. Viola was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton where she taught children's and senior adult Sunday School for many years. She moved to Canton in the 1930's and married Sherdie Douthit in 1935. Mrs. Douthit is best known as the "cake and pie lady." She enjoyed traveling, her cats, and watching wrestling, especially the Von Erich Family. Mrs. Viola prayed a lot and laughed a lot. She was able to live independently until she was 99 years old and moved to the nursing home.
Mrs. Douthit is preceded in death by her husband, Sherdie; two daughters: Greta Graham and Melba Godfrey; and a grandson, Mark Godfrey.
Mrs. Viola is survived by her daughter, Shirley Reynolds of Mesquite; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Cool Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

My mother was Doris Helen Douthit. I remember as a little girl going to Aunt Violas home and visiting. I remember her being a sweet, kind lady. My thoughts and prayers are with all family.
