Born on July 12, 1960, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Aidan lived a full and remarkable life defined by family, friendship, hard work, adventure, service to others, and a genuine love for the people around him.
Aidan was a gentle giant of a man with an enormous heart. His presence and laughter were unmistakable, but behind it was a kind, generous, and caring man who treasured simply being surrounded by the people he loved. Aidan was happiest in the company of friends and family, sharing stories, laughter, good times, and the everyday moments that ultimately mattered most to him. His competitive spirit emerged early. A gifted athlete, Aidan was an All-Star basketball player in high school, distinguishing himself on the court and displaying the determination and drive that would follow him throughout his life. As a young man, Aidan also had a passion for cars, speed, and competition. He pursued that passion as a professional drag race car driver, taking on a sport that seemed perfectly suited to his adventurous and competitive nature. His love of automobiles and racing remained part of him throughout his life.
Aidan's path also took him into the exciting world of live music and entertainment. He worked in production for touring and live music and was associated with many of the top musical acts of the time. Those years provided him with extraordinary experiences, friendships, and countless stories that became part of the fabric of his life. With a strong mechanical ability and determination, Aidan had a long and successful career in the HVAC industry. He worked alongside his father and family members to help grow a successful family HVAC business. He later founded and operated his own company, the successful Boston Mechanical Services. He took tremendous pride in the business relationships that he created and in the people who worked alongside him.
Aidan's success in the trades also contributed to something he believed in deeply: the value of vocational education. He was a strong advocate for vocational and technical education and understood firsthand the opportunities that learning a skilled trade could provide. Aidan maintained a lifelong connection to the Blue Hills Regional Technical High School, from which he graduated - a school that became part of the Maguire family's story across generations. His brother and nephew graduated from the school and Aidan had the great pride, while serving as the chairman of the school board, to be able to stand on stage and hand diplomas to each of his sons. For all of Aidan's accomplishments and adventures, however, nothing compared to the love he had for his family.
Aidan was deeply in love with his wife, Rosie, and completely devoted to her. She was his partner, his companion, and the love of his life. Through all the chapters of their lives together—the adventures, successes, challenges, changes, and quiet everyday moments—his love for Rosie remained at the center of his world.
He was equally proud of his three sons, Gregory, Colin, and Austin. Aidan took tremendous pride in each of them and in the men they became. Their lives, accomplishments, and happiness meant more to him than any achievement of his own. Of all the titles Aidan held throughout his life, being Rosie's husband and a father to Gregory, Colin, and Austin were undoubtedly the ones he cherished most.
After many years of hard work, Aidan retired from the HVAC industry and made his home in Cape Coral, Florida, with Rosie. Looking back on Aidan's life reveals an extraordinary journey, but the most important part of Aidan's story were the people in it. He loved being with family and friends. He valued companionship, laughter, conversation, and time spent together. Family connections were especially important to Aidan. He had many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly, and he made a point of staying connected with them. Whether catching up, sharing a story, having a laugh, or simply spending time together, those relationships meant a great deal to him. For Aidan, family extended far beyond his immediate household, and he cherished the bonds he shared across generations of his extended family.
Aidan's journey took him from the basketball court to the drag strip, from backstage in the music world to building a successful business, from learning a trade himself to helping ensure future generations had the same opportunities, and eventually to retirement in Florida. He experienced more than most people could fit into a lifetime and left behind countless stories worth telling. But when the racing, concerts, business successes, and accomplishments are stripped away, the best description of Aidan may also be the simplest: He was a gentle giant with a huge heart who loved his wife, was immensely proud of his sons, treasured his friends and family, and believed in helping others find their own path in life.
Aidan was predeceased by his father, Aidan Maguire Sr., and his mother, Janet Maguire.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Rosie, to whom he was deeply devoted; his three sons, Gregory, Colin, and Austin, who were an endless source of pride and joy; his sister Shannon Forgione and her husband, Denis, of Webster, Massachusetts; his sister Colleen Cunningham and her husband, Shaun, of Wilmington, Massachusetts; his sister Heather Wood of Tamarac, Florida; his brother Andy Celli and his husband, Kai, of Key West, Florida; and his brother Darin Maguire and his wife, June, of Salem, Massachusetts. He also leaves behind his many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins, with whom he treasured staying connected, as well as a wide circle of dear friends and the countless people whose lives crossed his throughout the many chapters of his remarkable life.
Aidan will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him. The stories of his adventures will be told for years to come. The friendships he made will be remembered. The opportunities he helped create for others will continue his legacy. And most importantly, the love he had for his family—and the love they had for him—will endure.
A devoted husband. A proud father. A loving brother and uncle. A loyal friend. A mentor and advocate. A gentle giant with an enormous heart. Aidan lived a big life, loved deeply, gave generously, and will never be forgotten.
A visitation will be held at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991, on October 16th from 10 to 12pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 12pm. The burial will take place at Coral Ridge Cemetery at 12:30pm.
