Allan J. Lopes, 58, of Cape Coral passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014. He was born September 1, 1955 in Westfield, MA to the late Louis and Marie Lopes. A man of integrity, Allan was committed to giving 110% to his job while working for Lee Memorial Health System. He had a great sense of humor and always made us laugh. There was a side of him that enjoyed hunting through antique stores for unique items and then there was the Al who grew his hair long, wore muscle shirts and rode the wind on his Harley. He would give his last dollar to a person in need and always wanted to make a difference. Family was the most important thing to him and he took great pride in watching his two girls, Beth and Jessie, grow up to be such smart, strong, caring women. Words cannot express the love he had for his grandson Brayden. We know that Al will continue to watch over his family. Please remember him as having a smile on his face and mischief in his heart. Al is survived by his beloved spouse of 36 years, Cathie; daughters Beth (John) Turco and Jessica Lopes; grandson Brayden Turco; sisters Deborah (Paul) Souza, Carol Lopes, and Barbara Lopes. A visitation will be held at Coral Ridge Funeral Home on Thursday, July 10th from 5-8pm with the funeral mass on Friday, July 11th at 11am at St. Katherine Drexel Church followed by a graveside service at Coral Ridge Cemetery. Consider becoming an organ donor, there are many people, just like Al, who could be saved by organ donation.

Words cannot express the sadness and emptiness we both feel in our hearts . As we viewed the photos we couldn't help but think back on all the GREAT times we shared together,Al always made us laugh even when he was hurting inside.Al was so proud of "his girls" Beth and Jessie and just as proud of you too Cathy,he would say I lucked out with these 3,really 4 because John is a great son-in-law-I couldn't ask for better. I think we all know Brayden was his pride and joy.I could tell, even over the phone, he had a smile on his face when he spoke about Brayden. Please know that even though we cannot be there you are all in our thoughts and prayers.Thank You Ernie for being there with Al, we appreciate the love and support.
God Bless You All
To My Brother Al,May You Rest in Peace and know that I was always proud to be your sister.
Love Debbie and Paul
