Antonio Di Giovanni, 90, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, in Coral Springs, Florida, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on February 22, 1936, in Gibellina, Sicily. He lived his life with confidence, creativity, and determination.
In 1958, he made the journey from Italy to Brooklyn, New York, where he met his wonderful wife, Teresa. They were married on September 20, 1964, beginning their lifelong adventure together.
Tony worked as a longshoreman and was deeply devoted to his family. He loved creating things that brought joy to others—whether it was something he built with his hands, a garden he carefully tended, a home-cooked meal, or a perfectly brewed espresso shared at the table.
He is survived by his two loving children: his daughter, Patricia, and her husband, Sal Sabella; and his son, Tommaso, and his wife, Myriam Di Giovanni. He is also survived by his five cherished grandchildren—Christina (and her husband, Steven Berger), Elizabeth, Salvatore, Francesca, and Antonio—and his great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Ellis, and Noel.
Tony was a loving father, Nonno, brother, uncle, and friend. Throughout his ninety years of life, his playful spirit never faded, and he had a rare gift for making everyone feel at home—like they belonged, like they were family. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM inside the Memorial Events Center at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S, Cape Coral, FL 33991, (239) 283-0540.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 17, 2026 inside the Chapel at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd, Cape Coral, FL 33904.
In lieu of floral arrangements, the family kindly asks that tomato plants, herb plants (such as basil, oregano, thyme, and rosemary), rose plants, and/or fruit trees be sent in his honor. These living gifts will be lovingly planted to create gardens in Tony’s memory.
