Brandon William Betts, 42, passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2024, at his home in Cape Coral, FL. Born on August 7, 1982, in Dunkirk, NY, he was the beloved son of Jonathan and Julie Betts. Brandon grew up in Silver Creek, NY, and graduated from Silver Creek High School in 2000. He was a devoted husband to Nikki Betts, a cherished son to Jon and Julie, a caring older brother to Vinny Betts, and recently took on the joyous role of being the most fun uncle to Kordell and Koa. Brandon’s vibrant spirit and joyous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Brandon pursued higher education at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, where he earned a Bachelor of Science with Honors in the School of Printing Management and Sciences. He held tight to the friendships he made in college throughout his life and cherished their connections.
Brandon’s professional life was spent working for equipment manufacturers in the printing industry. He started his career at Kodak and worked for the past 14 years at HP’s Industrial Print division. He held a variety of sales, technical, and business management roles, and most recently he led a business consulting team for HP in the Americas, while also supporting many global strategic initiatives and new product launches for the company. He was a well-respected manager and trusted adviser to both HP’s leadership and many of the largest printing companies across the globe. Brandon’s inspiring leadership, creativity, and unconditional willingness to collaborate with and support others were the hallmarks of his professional life. He made everyone around him better; Brandon’s legacy will live on through his colleagues and customers who were fortunate to know him and engage with him over the years.
Brandon embodied a "work hard, play hard" ethos. As much as he put into his professional life, he put even more into his personal life. Brandon met his wife Nikki in 2011, and their bond was instant. They married in 2015, and from their first date, they were inseparable. Their relationship was marked by profound respect, endless humor, pursuit of shared dreams, and thirst for travel. Their love was unwavering. Brandon traveled the world for business and pleasure, seeing some of the most beautiful places on Earth, but his favorite place on this planet was his home with Nikki and their two dogs, Layla and Dolly. In 2023, they settled in Cape Coral, FL, where Brandon cherished his new home as his slice of paradise.
Brandon lived life to the fullest every day. He loved music, especially Phish and Grateful Dead, was a lover of all 90’s music, and was a closet Dave Matthews fan. He loved live music and concerts and made so many wonderful friends at festivals across the country. Brandon was a cigar aficionado. He frequently attended cigar events with his father, brother, and best friends. One of his favorite memories was the trip he and his father took to the Drew Estate Tobacco Company in Estelli, Nicaragua. He cherished this once-in-a-lifetime trip with not only the man he respected most but also the person he considered to be a best friend. Brandon was a lifelong Buffalo Bills Fan. Brandon also loved boating, swimming, and being on the water. He was his happiest self on the water, music playing, and surrounded by those he loved most. He was fun-loving, charismatic, and loved to tell stories, especially the one about the terrible traffic after the Giant’s game.
Brandon's passion and enthusiasm were obvious to everyone around him, but his truest joy came from the connections he made and the friendships he cultivated all over the world. He had a gift of connection. From preschool through college, from Kodak to HP, from New York to Florida, from Costa Rica to Singapore, he forged bonds and connections with everyone he encountered. A true social butterfly, Brandon effortlessly made friends wherever he went, leaving a mark on people across the globe with his warm spirit and larger-than-life personality.
We will honor Brandon’s life with two celebrations. The first will be held in Atlanta, GA in the very near future (details to come) and the second will be held in Western NY in May 2025.
