Lance Corporal Brian Nicholas McKellop Jr. – “BJ” passed away at the age of 20 on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 . Those who knew BJ, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. He was a sophomore at Florida Southwestern college, servant leader, and Marine who leaves behind two parents, Simone Anson and Brian McKellop Sr., sisters-Chelsie, Diane, Briana, Deanna; brothers- Joshua and Dillan; 2 grandmothers, a grandfather, 6 aunts, 5 uncles, cousins and many family members that love him more than words can express. He also leaves behind too many friends to list in Cape Coral, FL. his home state of Florida and throughout the United States.
BJ was known for his enormous heart, passion for life, and strong desire to serve his country as a US Marine. He loved so many, and was loved by so many more. BJ had an energy that with even just one encounter with him, you would remember him for life. His family will hold a public memorial at First Baptist Church in Cape Coral, FL on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 11a.m. with committal service to follow at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery.
