Bruce Stanley Collett was born on October 22, 1949, in Asher, KY and grew up in Flint, MI.
In 1967, after attending Kersley High School, Bruce enlisted in the United States Army. He
was assigned to the 82nd Airborne and served two tours in Vietnam. He returned home in
1969.
Following his active duty, he returned to Flint and worked at the Buick factory. In 1977 he
earned a bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University. He went to work after graduation at
the corporate offices of Oldsmobile. He would remain with General Motors throughout his
career and retire with 34 years of service.
In retirement Bruce enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He relished devoting
more time to his love of Corvettes.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Collett, children Kristin Collett (Nicolas Bristow) and Troy
Collett (Jennifer Collett), stepchildren Tracey McLeod (Dan McLeod) and Stacey Duffy,
grandchildren; Oliver and Collett Foster, Alexandra and James Collett, Connor and Cameron
McLeod, Kyra Ladd and Tara Duffy, brother Roy Collett (Shelley Collett), sisters Betty
Burnham (The late Edward Burnham) and Sherry Collins (Buck Collins), several nieces and
nephews, and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Eva
Collett and his sister Sandra Miller.

BURIAL SERVICE
Bruce Collett will be laid to rest at Coral Ridge Cemetery in Cape Coral, Florida. This
