Carl Walter Zeller, 79, a proud resident of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Born on September 6, 1947, in Cohoes, New York, he was the beloved son of the late Walter and Mary (Koleski) Zeller.
Carl lived his life with the unwavering spirit of a true American patriot. A United States Vietnam Veteran, he carried his service with honor and pride, embodying the values of dedication, courage, and love of country every single day. His patriotism was not just something he spoke about—it was woven into the fabric of who he was.
He had a deep passion for the outdoors, especially hunting and boating, finding peace and joy in the open air and on the water. Carl was also a gifted, self taught woodworker whose hands could turn raw lumber into something beautiful and lasting. Over the years, he built countless pieces—each one crafted with patience, skill, and pride.
Among all his hobbies, one stood above the rest: his Corvette Z06. That car was his treasure. He loved bringing it to car shows, sharing stories, admiring other vehicles, and enjoying the camaraderie that came with the automotive world. Those moments brought him some of his greatest joy.
But above every passion, every project, and every mile driven in his Corvette, Carl’s heart belonged to his family. His wife and the family they built together were his greatest pride, his deepest joy, and the center of his world. He loved them fiercely, supported them wholeheartedly, and cherished every moment spent with them.
Carl also shared a close and loving bond with his sister, Nancy. Growing up together, they shared a wonderful childhood and created many memories that remained meaningful throughout their lives. Nancy will always cherish the experiences, stories, laughter, and years they shared as brother and sister.
Carl will be remembered for his patriotism, his craftsmanship, his adventurous spirit, and the love he poured into his family. His legacy lives on in the memories shared, the stories told, and the lives he touched.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, June Zeller; one son, James Zeller and his wife, Julie; one granddaughter, Brook and her husband, Karl; great-granddaughter, Penny Ann; one sister, Nancy; two nieces, Mary Alizadeh and Heather Rose; one nephew, Kayvon Alizadeh; as well as several great-nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Service to Celebrate Carl’s Life will be held 12 Noon, Monday, October 5, 2026 at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S., Cape Coral. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 11:00 AM until the service time at the funeral home. Following the services everyone will be invited to place Carl in the Garden of Everlasting Peace where the United States Air Force present Military Honors.
