Born in Rosario Cavite, Philippines on Dec 26, 1941, she was the third child (of 7) of Manuel and Trinidad Abutin. She studied architecture at the University of Santo Tomas and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1972 where they settled first in Brooklyn, NY, then Hazlet, NJ, where they lived for 26 years. After both their retirements, she and her husband moved in 2005 to Cape Coral, where she enjoyed tending to her garden of tropical plants and fruits, and hosting large family and friend gatherings. She loved to travel and took many trips around the world.
She is survived by her beloved husband Reynold of 47+ years, daughter Jasmin, son-in-law Brian, grandchildren Owen, Madeleine, and Amelia, sisters Luvy, Corazon, and Victoria, and many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 10th between the hours of 12 – 3pm at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and a Catholic funeral mass being held 12pm, Tuesday, January 12th at St Katharine Drexel Church.
