Born and raised in Michigan, Dan spent most of his life there, building a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and service to others. He worked as an engineer for over 40 years and also proudly served as a reserve officer with the Macomb County Sheriff’s Motorcycle Division. His dedication to his work and his community reflected the caring and generous man he was.
After retirement, Dan and his beloved wife, Kendal, moved to Florida, where they had made their home for the past nine years. Together, they shared 39 years of marriage filled with love, memories, and a lifetime of experiences.
Dan was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He treasured time spent with his family and friends and found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. He loved God, enjoyed woodworking, and took great pride in creating beautiful, handcrafted gifts for veterans. Through these thoughtful creations, he shared not only his talents but also his deep appreciation for those who served our country.
Above all, Dan will be remembered for his warm heart, gentle kindness, and generous spirit. He had a special way of making others feel cared for and valued, and he touched countless lives through his thoughtfulness and willingness to give to others. His love for his family, his faith, and his desire to make a difference in the lives of those around him were at the heart of who he was.
Dan was preceded in death by his sister, Susie, and his parents, Robert and Norma Gordon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Kendal; his children, Chris (Carrie), Carey (Bambi), Casey (Chris), Lindsey, and Jamie (Mike); and his 11 beloved grandchildren, Gavin, Kendra, Jake, Abby, Cammy, Chase, Mikey, Josh, Cailee, Drew, and Reagan, who brought him so much joy and pride.
Though Daniel’s passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who loved him, the memories he created, the love he shared, and the countless acts of kindness he bestowed upon others will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on through his family, his friendships, his service, and the many lives he touched along the way.
