Eddie Alexis

Eddie was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruby Alexis of Cape Coral, Florida, son Eddie A. Alexis of Fort Myers, Florida, and sister Dorvin Bodden of Charlotte, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by son Kenneth Alexis. He survived five brothers and three sisters: Robbie Alexis, Lionel Alexis, Rupert Alexis, Nelson Alexis, Thomas James, Nelcia Palmer, Mary Watler, and Horance Webster.

Many others hold dear memories of Eddie, many family members remember him fondly, nieces Julia Bodden, Ondina Rodriguez, Cynthia Dawson and Dana Drummond; sisters-in-law, Julietta Alexis, Grace Alexis, and Olivia Mckeney, and a host of others, nieces, nephews, cousins, and long-time friends and acquaintances.

Family members knew Eddie as a responsible man who found work as a seaman at a young age in order to help his family after his father died. He valued his family.

Eddie was a merchant seaman for 45 years and a proud member of the National Maritime Union. He was a member of the United States Merchant Marine.

He was baptized in the Methodist Church in Roatan, Honduras. He strived to be a good Christian. He read The Bible determinedly. He attended church services faithfully. He learned that salvation was the way out of old age and sickness. He is in a better place.
