Edward F. Wehausen, 93, of Cape Coral, FL. passed away March 5, 2011 at Hope Hospice Cape Coral. He was born on October 15, 1917 in Manitowoc, WI to Emil and Marie Wehausen. Edward served in the US Army during WWII. In May 1946, he married Lois Jeanne Brewer in Salt Lake City, UT and cultivated his life as a dairy farmer in Manitowoc Co., WI. Edward and Lois Jeanne raised 10 children before residing 38 years in Cape Coral, FL using his talents as a landscaper, city lot mower, and founding member of Abiding Love Lutheran Church. Edward is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Lois Jeanne Brewer and son, Steven E. Wehausen. He is survived by sisters, Sylvia Kasten of Manitowoc, WI. , Delores Weyer, of Houston, TX. children, Wayne (Faith) Wehausen of Lehigh Acres, FL, Kent (Carol) Wehausen of Crossville, TN, Glenn Wehausen of Brookville, FL., Kerry Hatton of Tucson, AZ., Stanley (Susan) of Reedsville, WI., Wesley (Lorraine) Wehausen of Cato, WI., Bonnie Wehausen (Gerald Derworth) of Lehigh Acres, FL., Terry Wehausen of Cape Coral, FL., grandchildren; Shayne Wehausen , Denise Wehausen (Niklas Gyllo), Jason (Staci) Wehausen, Kevin (Lisa) Wehausen, Sheila ( Forrest) Harris, Russell (Shannon) Wehausen, Jessica and Justin Hatton, and 9 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Edward’s Life will take place at Coral Ridge Funeral Home 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, Wednesday March 9, 2011 at 11:00AM. Family will receive friends from 10:00AM-11:00AM. Interment Coral Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made in Edward’s memory to Special Population, P.O.Box 150027, Cape Coral, FL 33915.
