Eileen was born in Paterson, N.J. on October 31, 1921.
She married Billy Martin, who was in training to become a U.S. Navy fighter pilot, on October 23, 1943. Eileen gave birth to a daughter, Dianne, on August 17, 1944. Three months later, she became a widow at 23 when Billy was killed while serving in the Pacific Theater of World War II.
Eileen remarried in 1950 to Rocco P. Caruso. Their 38-year marriage gave her two beloved stepchildren, Bobby and Rosemary.
For many years, she worked at Cessna Aircraft, first serving as the Secretary to the President before moving up to become a Manager of Service Parts in the Aircraft Radio Avionics Division.
Eileen lived in Florham Park, N.J., for over 50 years and moved to North Fort Myers, FL, at 85. She was an active and loved member of the Herons Glenn community, participating in as many social activities as possible.
She is survived by two children, two grandsons, two granddaughters, one great-grandson, two great-granddaughters, too many nieces, nephews, and cousins to mention--but you all know who you are, whom she loved very much.
Eileen served as the unofficial matriarch of our extended family and friends--the person everyone went to with their problems or good news--and she will be sorely missed by all.
